Before & After School Care Update

Thanks to the remaining 32N grant funding, we are able to offer affordable before- and after-school care at both of our learning centers.

At this time, transportation remains a challenge due to a shortage of bus drivers in both the South Haven and Coloma school districts. We understand how important transportation is for families and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this challenge.

As transportation options and additional spots become available, we will reach out to families who have already expressed interest in enrolling their children.

If you are able to provide transportation for your child to and from school and one of our YDC Learning Centers, please reach out to your center director to discuss enrollment options.

Looking for a safe, enriching, and fun environment for your child after school? The Youth Development Company/Police Athletic League (YDC/PAL) offers AFTER SCHOOL Out-of-School Time (OST) programs designed to support families in Coloma, Gobles, Lawrence, and South Haven school districts.

What Makes the YDC AFTER SCHOOL Special?

The After School program provides a nurturing space where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Each day includes:

Homework Help: Dedicated time and assistance to complete assignments.
Physical Activity: Opportunities to play and socialize in a safe setting.
Healthy Snacks: Nutritious options to keep energy levels up.

With class sizes ranging from 15 to 25 students and programs accommodating 40–70 kids per location, OST ensures personalized attention and a community feel.

Arts and Recreation: Encouraging creativity and physical health.

Ready to provide your child with an engaging Out of School Time experience? Click on the Waitlist at the top of the page to get your child onto the waitlist for out of school time care. Once we have 15 interested students, at your desired location, YDC will work to relaunch our out of school experiences as quickly as we can. Thanks for your patience are we work through the shift in funding that supports our out of school time efforts.

YDC Kids Release Original Song & Music Video!

We are thrilled to share an exciting project created by our YDC kids this summer! At the end of the season, we hosted the “Say It With Music” STEM Camp, where 8 participants—selected from our four summer programs after competing in the YDC Summer Camp Talent Show—came together to showcase their creativity.

Throughout the week, these talented young artists worked with mentors to write their own song and film the video footage. The editing team from the STEM camp then skillfully wove all the pieces together into one amazing final product.

We are so proud of their hard work and can’t wait for you to see it. Enjoy their original song and music video!
