South Haven Early Childhood Experience
Learning Center
Maria Saldana is the South Haven Learning YDC Program Director. She has 20 plus years’ experience working in early childhood education. From Telamon Migrant Head Star to TRI-County Head Start, she has spent her career in education.
Mrs. Saldana’s role has always been to ensure the well being and safety of each child and implement age -appropriate curriculum. She’s works to provide a positive relationship and support for each child’s social, emotional growth development.
Maria is fluent in both English and Spanish and loves being able to use those skills to accommodate and serve more families.
During her time here at YDC she has continued to build stronger relationships that will further develop a stronger foundation and positive environment for our YDC community.

Within these learning center walls are experienced, knowledgeable, caring staff who come to work each day smiling and happy to care for the wonderful kids in our care. Our lead teachers are CDA certified and work to improve their skills with monthly professional development. Children learn routine, social skills, healthy eating and grooming habits. Together they engage in fine motor activities, puzzles, story time, physical activity, fresh air and lots of fun!
